The recruitment procedure for Indian Coast Guard will begin from the 26th of August 2019. Before the dates come over, check out certain things that may help you with the procedure.
Requirements for the Job:
As per the notification released by the Indian Coast Guard on their official website www.joinindiancoastguard.gov.in, the candidate needs to be 10+2 passed with Mathematics and Physics subjects with at least 50% aggregate marks to apply for the post of Navik (GD).
Age limit: The minimum age limit for this job profile is 18 years and the maximum age limit is 22 years.
Relaxation in Upper age for the following categories:
Upper age relaxation for SC/ST – 5 years
Upper age relaxation for OBC – 3 years.
What does the procedure involve?
The procedure for the selection of Navik (GD) begins from the 1st of September, 2019.
The selection procedure is a three-phased process which involves the following:
- Written examination
- Physical fitness test
- Medical Examination
Job Profile:
Understanding the scope of work is essential to every passing every phase of the procedure, as it puts you in a ready mindset to deal with whatever comes your way. The scope of work for a Navik (GD) is to operate from ships and aircraft to protect the Indian Maritime Interests as the officers, sailors and men of Indian Coast Guard basically face many challenges at sea.
Candidates who are selected for the post will be trained at the INS Chilka for 24 weeks respectively. After this training, the Navik GDs would be deputed for afloat duty training right away for 3 months and then they would be sent for Cadre training.
The Cadre training can vary from 4-6 months.
