Interview Tips

Body language hacks for your Interview

For those of you who did not know this, your body speaks more than your mouth ever will. And in order to make it through an interview, you would need to get your body language right, more than anything else actually.

Here are some body language hacks that can help you

  1. Never slouch: When you slouch, it creates a really poor impression of you. Sit up against the back of the chair, spine erect and shoulders widened. This gives out an aura of confidence and you will see that the interviewer gets the vibe you are giving out.
  2. Maintain eye contact: When you look a person in the eye, it means that you are unafraid and that all you are speaking is 100% true. They don’t just say, “the eyes are the windows to the soul.” When you speak confidently, maintaining eye contact adds a layer of truth to it.
  3. Use hand gestures while making a point: Great orators always used positive hand gestures while trying to make a point. It helps resonate your point better and makes your conversation more animated, therefore more interesting.
  4. Open your palms occasionally: Opening palms is often seen as a sign of “got nothing to hide here”. Body language experts believe that if people get to see your palms, they trust you more.
  5. Nod your head while you listen: Verbal nods are a sign of active listening. By nodding, you prove to the other person that you are actively paying attention to what they say. Listening is a great skill that interviewers are on the lookout for. So, cash in on this.
